Libratone App Reviews

App stinks, bring back old one

The new app is clearly made for the new generation of Libratone speakers. It constantly cant find my classic Live Speaker at all. The speaker setup (we changed our wifi password) doesnt work at all. You have to do it through a web browser instead. Just bring back the old app and call it Libratone Classic. I spent a lot of money on a Zipp, Live and Lounge, and now Im high and dry with this crap app. Boo!

Keeps Losing Speaker

Ok but lots of room for improvement... In fact needs improvement. Both when connected to WiFi or Bluetooth, the app forgets the speaker and each time it has to be added again. No it has nothing to do w signal strength, this has happened in close proximity to the wifi router and via Bluetooth when the phone is close (<10 ft) away. When adding it via Bluetooth, the app has a glitch that doesnt recognize the speaker is connected via Bluetooth but under the iOS Settings the phone recognizes its connected but app doesnt... So you cant "click Next" to finish adding the speaker. For a $300 speaker that relies on the App for set up, I thought the app development/integration would be better. Hopefully in the next update theyll fix some of the major flaws.

Cant log in

I want to use my iPad for controlling and playing on my libratone speakers. But I can not insert my email address to login. Thus it is useless. Very disappointing for expensive speaker set up.

Hhicks

This app would be much better if you could select a default speaker so that you dont have to select it every time you want to adjust the volume. A mute button would be helpful as well. That way you can easily return to desired volume with one touch.

V2.0 Update Disables the Speaker

I have a Libratone Live speaker that worked wonderfully until I updated the firmware to V2.0. Now none of my devices (MacBook, iPhone, iPad) are able to connect to the speaker for audio streaming. Another update to update the update seems necessary. For now my speaker is a wool covered brick.

Still loving it after 3 weeks.

Setting up my Libratone Lounge was about as simple as it gets. The 2.0 update didnt change much in the app besides the signal strength indicator (which I can see be immensely helpful to those with woeful networks). I have not noticed any problems playing from my iPhone, iPad or iMac before or after the firmware update.

DO NOT UPDATE

Very satisfied with speaker performance and quality, was notified about the pending update when all of a sudden... The 3.5mm input became cattle prodded into silent nothing. AirPlay is patchy and my connected TV (via optical audio) is once again left on its own. Volume no longer controls the speaker. Please fix, and fast. Until then, steer clear of this until another release.

No more AirPlay dropouts with update

Normally I don’t do this kind of reviews, as I’m not very technical. But for everyone out there like me, I think my opinion must count as well. I have an iPhone, ipad and a Macbook and keep my music on there. The speaker in my computer didn’t do my music much justice – especially not in a party situation ;) One of my friends recommended me a Libratone Live and I bought it because I like the design and it sounded great. I’m so happy about my choice! The design makes it really stand out and I find it easy to use. From time to time I experienced some AirPlay dropouts, but since I’ve made the latest update, which Libratone promised would fix these issues, I haven’t had any problems.

Sound & Quality compliments its looks!

We have been extremely pleased with this handsome speaker (tan Lounge)! Having our entire home set up via HomeSharing (iTunes) the setup was simple...only taking minutes. The App will adjust the sound to your personal preference. In our case it was set up on the dining room buffet (3walls) and the sound compares to my other high end speakers! As far as the issues (reviews posted) around connection and dropped signals...my advice is to spend the time to research and purchase a network that will support a strong signal throughout your entire home. In our case, our home is a 1936 Historic solid concrete home with original plaster walls, so my signal is supported by an AirportExtreme and four AirportExpress. As far as the look...well it is by far the best looking of any speaker in the this high end category...not to mention being a conversation piece at every party! Weve been so pleased that the replacement of the other rooms with Libratone is being highly considered.

Really needs a way to setup the speaker

The #1 reason youll need to interact with your speaker is to listen to music. The #2 reason is to setup the speaker, which will be necessary if the speaker loses power. This app is useless for #2, which is such a lost opportunity given how non-obvious the setup process is.

Useless speaker

Just bough, open nox and try set up the live device, i found an update and try to update the device using this app, speaker no longer work , keeps blinking in yellow (reboot mode). Could never use the speaker , brand new and its trash now, i will try to return it asap.

Update fail

After the New Update none of my libratone products can found in the app - fail......

Amazing Product - Lounge 2013

Just follow the instructions, its not that hard. Update process went very smoothly from my iPad. Ive had the Lounge for 3 weeks now and love it. I have updated the software twice and appreciate the improvements. Thanks for the new lock button feature! My two boys cant stop the music now! Haha... Keep up the great work Libratone... Cheers from California. Its gonna be a great Super Bowl this year.

Speaker was great till the upgrade

Do not download the app. The speaker works great without it and after downloading the app for the firmware upgrade, nothing works at all. Customer service - nonexistent other than an email telling you to try to update the software five times. Company could have become the leader in HiFi acoustics, now just another terrible app developer on the iTunes website trying to make a quick buck.

Volume support

The app is ok... There should be a volume slider In the app you can use to control the speaker at any time

Please add iPad support

Would be perfect if it was a universal app. Otherwise works great

Wont connect to Zipp after update

No longer sees my Zipp after update. Doesnt work at all. Also Id love an option to use the physical phone buttons to adjust volume after connecting so you dont have to open the app the make adjustments all the time. Or integrate into lock screen controls.

Solid

Easy and effective

360 sound even when you are not near!

I love my Libratone 360 Scandinavian lounge speaker. Easy to set up and use. This app is a great in optimizing the sounds with a number of presettings. What I wish they add in the future release is an old fashion equalizer. I am sure an Scandinavian programmer at Libratone can devise an algorithm that prevents poor equalization settings. Still love the pure and simple UI in this app.
